Donna is a graduate from Duquesne University with a Master's Degree in Instructional Technology the class of 2011. She enjoys using her skills giving instruction in cooking, and cooking, editing, and creating web design. Donna's passion for cooking for her family and friends influenced her to start this cooking website and her YouTube Channel.
Flavors with A Twist is designed for at Home Chefs. This means that we are not certified as chefs or hold any type of degree in culinary. But through our own experiences of cooking for our family, friends, relatives or that special someone, we can call ourselves and gladly hold the title of At Home Chefs. On this site you will find meals that you would cook in your home every day, not too fancy but, delicious affordable Homemade or Semi-homemade Meals.
Through my years of preparing meals for my family, I have learned to take a few short-cuts, meaning the end result will taste the same or sometimes even better. My plan when i cook is to prepare a meal as efficient as I can without being in the kitchen all day. Example, my mother's recipe 'Lue's Sweet Potato Pie' I prepared the filling for the pie exactly the same way that my mom would have but, the only difference is, my mom would prepare her own pie crust, but with my busy days, I try to cook the same home made meals using a timelier method. I decided to use Pillsbury Pie Crust, over the years i found out that you cannot go wrong with that. It bakes up prefect and the taste is close to home. The crust can also be used in savory pies, like Chicken or Turkey pot pie. It taste the same without the fuss, I put my own twist on the recipe. Thus born Flavor's with A Twist.
I hope you enjoy the recipes and videos that my granddaughter and I created. Nashell is a graduate from Point Park University, the class of 2022. While there she earned a B.S. Degree in Forensic Science, she is also a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Tang Soo Do Karate, Nashell became a Karate Instructor in 2018. I gave her the title of Home Suo’s Chef in training, where she is learning meal preparation, cooking, and assisting me in the kitchen.
