Updated: Nov 30, 2022

Green Beans has been a classic side dish for years, whether you cook them with potatoes or steam them, or serve them as the popular Green Bean Casserole, you just cannot go wrong with Green Beans. In my recipe, I prepared them in Butter, Garlic and Bacon, this is the way my mom would prepare them when she did not add Potatoes to the dish. I love potatoes nestled in green beans but if you are serving potatoes as a side dish, then preparing green beans this way is a great alternative.

I used the frozen whole green beans in this recipe, they cook up so nice and tender, but you can also, use fresh green beans for this recipe, using the frozen is a great way of preparing this delicious recipe without all the fuss of picking and stringing the green beans. Anything that can get me in and out of the kitchen faster, I am all for it, even professional chefs are finding quicker techniques of preparing delicious meals in a timelier manner.

You are going to love this recipe; the green beans cook up so tender, the butter and garlic along with the bacon just infuses the green beans. The cooking times in this recipe may vary, it depends on how many green beans you have, in this recipe I used 3, 1 pound bags, so I let them simmer for 40 minutes, if you are only cooking 1-2 pounds then the beans will not take as long to cook, with 3 pounds my skillet was full, so it took about 10 minutes longer to cook than usual. So, give this recipe a try, view the video and recipe, you will see just how easy it is to make and how to have an amazing vegetable dish on your table in no time at all.
