QUICK & EASY BEEF STIR FRY

When I decided to make this recipe the first thought that came to mind was to fix something that was quick and easy to make and at the same time make something that was healthy to eat. Stir frying is a cooking technique in which ingredients are fried in a small amount of oil, using a wok or pan. History says that the technique originated in china and in recent centuries spread to other parts of Asia and the West.


The ingredients in stir fry’s usually consists of peppers, onions, mushrooms, carrots, broccoli, and even those little baby ears of corn that is sold in cans in the supermarket. And if you like, you can put in bean sprouts and water chestnuts. You can use vegetables of your choice, and the meats that are normally used are, beef, chicken, shrimp and pork. As some would say, whatever floats your boat.


In my recipe I used Skirt Steak, but you can use Sirloin, Flank Steak or whatever your favorite steak is. I wanted my stir fry to be colorful so, I use 4 different colors of bell peppers, they can make a difference when it comes to presentation and the taste is out of this world. The twist on this stir fry recipe is, I used Stir Fry seasoning, when you mix it with water and soy sauce it makes a nice sauce for the stir fry.


Also, I added a touch of Hoisin Sauce which really gave my stir fry the kick it needed. This recipe is delicious, it is quick & easy, like I said before preparation is the key to get in and out the kitchen. QUICK & EASY BEEF STIR FRY



INGREDIENTS

2 POUNDS OF SKIRT STEAK (SLICED)

4 TABLESPOONS OF OIL (VEGETABLE OR OLIVE OIL)

1 ONION (SLICED)

8 NICE SIZED MUSHROOMS (SLICED)

USE MEDIUM PEPPERS NOT LARGE

1/2 GREEN BELL PEPPER (SLICED)

1/2 RED BELL PEPPER (SLICED)

1/2 YELLOW BELL PEPPER (SLICED)

1/2 ORANGE BELL PEPPER (SLICED)

1 CUP OF BROCCOLI

2 PACKS OF STIR FRY SEASONING

1 CUP OF WATER

1/4 CUP OF HOISIN SAUCE

4 TABLESPOONS OF SOY SAUCE

2 TABLESPOONS OF SUGAR

1/4 CUP OF SESAME SEEDS


DIRECTIONS

IN UNGREASED PAN BROWN SESAME SEEDS UNTIL GOLDEN BROWN, SET ASIDE. ADD 2 TABLESPOONS OF OIL TO PAN AND ADD STEAK, BROWN ON ALL SIDES, SET ASIDE. IN MEASURING CUP OR BOWL ADD 1 CUP OF WATER AND STIR IN BOTH PACKS OF STIR FRY MIX, THEN ADD 4 TABLESPOONS OF SOY SAUCE SET ASIDE.


RETURN STEAK TO HEAT AND ADD THE STIR FRY MIXTURE AND THE HOISIN SAUCE. COOK FOR AT LEAST 3 MINUTES UNTIL THE SAUCE THICKENS, THEN ADD THE VEGETABLES EXCEPT THE BROCCOLI AND COOK FOR 2 MINUTES, THEN ADD THE BROCCOLI, COOK FOR 2 MORE MINUTES AND ADD THE SESAME SEEDS AND COOK FOR ANOTHER 2 MINUTES

THE STIR FRY IS READY TO SERVE. I LIKE MY STIR FRY OVER RICE, BUT YOU CAN PUT IT OVER NOODLES OR WHATEVER YOU PLEASE. ENJOY!!!
