AU GRATIN POTATOES

This potato dish is a winner in my house, the tender potatoes in a rich creamy cheese sauce is a delicious side dish that you can pair with Chicken, Pork or Beef recipes. You can serve these creamy potatoes as a weeknight side dish or for any special occasion.

In this recipe I used a mixture of Monterey Jack and Cheddar Cheese, also, Fresh Parmesan Cheese and for a little tang I threw in a half of cup of Pepper Jack Cheese. That is the good thing about this recipe you can use what ever cheese you would like to use; I like to experiment with different cheeses from time to time and they all seem to work great!

Since this recipe calls for raw, and not precooked potatoes I would suggest not cooking them less than an hour and a half, so the potatoes will come out tender. Also, I like to use the Russet potatoes when making these because they do cook up tender when sliced thin. In the video you will see that I added the milk in two parts, the last cup I added after the cheese to get it to the consistency that I wanted. But you can play with the sauce to get it the way you would like. Below is the video and recipe, give these a try, have fun. Enjoy!
