
NORTHERN STYLE CREAM CORN
INGREDIENTS
8 - Ears of Fresh corn
5 – Slices of Bacon Cut into pieces
3 Cheese Blend-Asiago-Parmesan-Romano
1 Cup of Heavy Cream
3/4 Cup of Milk
2 Tablespoons of Butter
3 Tablespoons of All-Purpose Flour
2 Tablespoons of Sugar
1/2 Onion Finely Chopped
1 Tablespoon of Minced Garlic
Black Pepper to taste
Kosher Salt to taste
DIRECTIONS
Remove corn from the cob, sear off the bacon and remove bacon from pan and set aside. Add onion to the pan with the bacon fat, cook for a few minutes, then add 1 tablespoon of minced garlic and cook for another minute. Add corn, then add butter and cook for 5-6 minutes. Add Salt & Black Pepper to taste and cook for 2 minutes, add flour, and stir until combined. Add milk stirring to combine, then add heavy cream stirring to combine let cook for about 3 minutes, then add about 1 tablespoon of sugar stirring to combine, test to see if there is enough salt and pepper, season to taste, then add cheese about 1/2 cup stirring well to combine. Cover corn and simmer about 10 minutes. Enjoy!
