SWEDISH MEATBALLS

Updated: Dec 1, 2022

Swedish meatballs are a dish that I have always been fond of ever since I was a child, my mom use to make them for us, and I just could not get enough of them. I have always liked recipes that had a creamy gravy sauce, and Swedish meatballs were one of my favorites. When it comes to recipes with gravy, you have so many options to what you can serve with them, I prefer with most gravy dishes either mashed potatoes or rice, but Swedish meatballs is the one dish that I prefer with buttered egg noodles.

I found out that is the way that my family prefers them also. The rich creamy gravy incorporated with sour cream is a winner in my book. The Sour cream blended with the Heavy cream is so rich and flavorful it makes the gravy and meatballs taste amazing. In my recipe I used 2 pounds Ground Beef, but you can substitute 1 pound of ground pork and 1 pound of ground beef, some cooks even use ground turkey, but it is up to you, put your own twist on it. But I do recommend using Heavy cream over milk, it provides a richer flavor to the gravy. Also, using an ice cream scoop to form the meatballs is a preferred method, that way all the meatballs will be the same size.

In the video I added the Nutmeg over the meatballs at the end, to be honest I should have added the Nutmeg to the gravy with the salt, pepper, and parsley. While I was filming the video, I almost forgot it and saw it sitting behind the cream at the last minute, but sometimes these things happen so I added it toward the end. But I assure you it did not make a difference the meatballs and gravy were delicious. Try this amazing recipe for yourself and leave a comment in the box below, do not forget to view the video and recipe. Enjoy!!!
