Swedish meatballs are a dish that I have always been fond of ever since I was a child, my mom use to make them for us, and I just could not get enough of them. I have always liked recipes that had a creamy gravy sauce, and Swedish meatballs were one of my favorites. When it comes to recipes with gravy, you have so many options to what you can serve with them, I prefer with most gravy dishes either mashed potatoes or rice, but Swedish meatballs is the one dish that I prefer with buttered egg noodles.

I found out that is the way that my family prefers them also. The rich creamy gravy incorporated with sour cream is a winner in my book. The Sour cream blended with the Heavy cream is so rich and flavorful it makes the gravy and meatballs taste amazing. In my recipe I used 2 pounds Ground Beef, but you can substitute 1 pound of ground pork and 1 pound of ground beef, some cooks even use ground turkey, but it is up to you, put your own twist on it. But I do recommend using Heavy cream over milk, it provides a richer flavor to the gravy. Also, using an ice cream scoop to form the meatballs is a preferred method, that way all the meatballs will be the same size.

In the video I added the Nutmeg over the meatballs at the end, to be honest I should have added the Nutmeg to the gravy with the salt, pepper, and parsley. While I was filming the video, I almost forgot it and saw it sitting behind the cream at the last minute, but sometimes these things happen so I added it toward the end. But I assure you it did not make a difference the meatballs and gravy were delicious. Try this amazing recipe for yourself and leave a comment in the box below, do not forget to view the video and recipe. Enjoy!!!

2 Pounds of Ground Beef

2 Eggs

1 Teaspoon of Garlic Powder

1 Teaspoon of Black Pepper

1 Tablespoon of Seasoning Salt

1 Small Onion (chopped)

3/4 cup of Breadcrumbs

1 Teaspoon of Oil

1/2 Stick of Butter

1/3 Cup of Flour

2-1/2 cups of Beef Broth

3/4 Cup of Heavy Cream

3/4 Cup Sour Cream

1/2 Teaspoon of Black Pepper

1/4 Teaspoon Salt

1/2 Teaspoon of Nutmeg

1/4 Cup of fresh Parsley (chopped)

In large bowl combine ground beef, chopped onion, breadcrumbs, eggs, salt and pepper, mix until well combined. With small scoop, roll the meat mixture into meatballs, you should get at least 24 meatballs out of 2 pounds of beef. Add oil to pan and brown meatballs on all sides, about 5-6 minutes.

Set meatballs aside, start making the Gravy. Add to pan 1/2 Sick of butter melt butter until dissolved and hot, stir in flour until lightly browned, add beef broth and cook until sauce begins to thicken, about 2 minutes, then stir in heavy cream, mix well and stir in sour cream, salt and pepper, parsley, and nutmeg, cook for 1 minute.

Return meatballs to sauce and cook over medium heat for about 10 minutes until heated through. You can serve these with mashed potatoes, noodles, or rice, or whatever you have a taste for. Enjoy!!!
