If you are thinking about what to fix with that left-over Ham that you prepared for the holidays, well this is a great go to recipe that will fill that void. Ham salad is something that I may not have but once or twice a year, that’s because I only cook ham once or twice a year, on Easter and Christmas, so if I have a taste for ham salad before those two holiday’s, then I am off to the Deli to satisfy my ham salad craving.
When making this recipe, it is very important to mince your ham as fine as possible, I would also use this same process with the celery and onions, that is why I recommend using a food processor or chopper. Ham salad is a salad that is smooth and even spreadable, like the consistency of Tuna Salad. It can be served with crackers or as miniature sandwiches for lunch or brunch on slider buns or toast, or crostini’s, whichever way you decide to serve this salad, it will taste amazing.
As I said, this is a great way to use that left-over ham, I normally buy a whole ham for the holiday’s but this year I only purchased a half of ham and I am so glad I did because I would have definitely had too much ham left over. With the half of ham, I only had about 7 slices left over, and my husband ate one of the slices, so in the recipe I only used 6 slices which proved to be enough to make this recipe. Like I said in the video, do you when it comes to seasoning, I’m just showing you how I do my recipe, but you can tweak it as needed using more seasoning or less, It’s entirely up to you. Please see recipe and video below. Enjoy!
